Sunday Spent at Normans Cay
A Perfect Sunday in Norman’s Cay
A Perfect Sunday in Norman’s Cay with Baha Babes
Sundays are for adventure, and this past Sunday was nothing short of spectacular. We packed our bags, grabbed our cameras, and headed to the airport for a dreamy day in Norman’s Cay. If you’ve never been, trust us—it’s a must-visit slice of paradise in the Exumas.
The Flight: A 20 Minute Aerial Masterpiece
Our day started early at Jet Nassau, where we boarded a private plane bound for Norman’s Cay International Airport. The flight itself was a highlight—just 20 minutes over the most mesmerizing Exuma sandbanks, where the water shifts from deep blues to electric turquoise. You don’t need a filter when nature’s this perfect. Before we knew it, we were touching down in paradise.

A Warm Welcome and Our Captain for the Day
Upon arrival, the friendly staff at Norman’s Cay greeted us with smiles and whisked us away to the marina, where we met our captain for the morning, Jonathan. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide—his love for the area was contagious, and he had the best itinerary planned for us.

First Stop: The Famous Sunken Plane
No trip to Norman’s is complete without a stop at the legendary sunken plane. A remnant of its notorious past, this underwater wreck has now become a thriving marine habitat. We jumped in, snorkeled around, and flew the drone to capture some unreal footage. The visibility was crystal clear, and the fish swirled around us as if they were part of the experience.

A Private Island Escape: Wax Cay
From there, we moved on to something truly special—a private tour of Wax Cay. Just a short boat ride away, this island is a hidden gem with six stunning villas, a main cottage, a restaurant and bar, a commercial kitchen, and a laid-back hangout cottage. It even has its own marina! The views were breathtaking, with pristine beaches and lush greenery framing the landscape. We wandered through the property, imagining what it would be like to wake up to these views every day. (One can dream, right?)

Back to Norman’s Cay: Exploring the Yacht Club
After our private island adventure, we were dropped back at Norman’s Cay, just a quick five-minute ride away. Next up was the brand-new Norman’s Cay Yacht Club, which instantly stole our hearts. Overlooking the bay where the sunken plane rests, the club offers incredible views and an inviting atmosphere. We sipped on frozen daiquiris while soaking in the scenery—pure bliss.

Lunch at McDuff’s and Beachside Relaxation
Our lunch reservation at McDuff’s was at 2 PM, so we had some time to unwind. Some of us kayaked, others strolled along the powder-white beach, and the rest simply laid out, letting the Bahamian sun kiss our skin. It was the definition of island living.

When it was time for lunch, we gathered at McDuff’s, where the food did not disappoint. We started with golden conch bites drizzled with spicy maple syrup—absolutely divine. Some of us sipped on spicy margaritas, while others went for a classic Sands beer. The burger and fish sandwich were clear standouts, but honestly, every dish was a winner. It was one of those long, slow lunches where you lose track of time in the best way.

The Journey Home
By 4 PM, it was time to head back. We reluctantly made our way to the airport, took one last deep breath of that salty island air, and boarded our flight back to Nassau. As we flew over the Exumas once again, we couldn’t help but reflect on the perfect Sunday we had just experienced.
From the aerial views to the sunken plane, the private island tour to the yacht club, and the beach time to the unforgettable lunch—this was one for the books. If you’re looking for the ultimate Baha Babes-approved island escape, Norman’s Cay is waiting for you!
